Monthly feature update June 2024
At MediaLab, we’re constantly developing our platform to ensure you have the most intuitive and powerful media management experience available. We’ve worked hard on several new features that have just been rolled out, along with a sneak peek at what we're working on for future releases!
Feature 1: Customizable file list view
Understanding that each project has unique requirements, we’ve upgraded our file list view to be fully customizable. Now, you can adjust your workspace by selecting which columns to display and which to hide, ensuring the information you need is always at your fingertips.
Feature 2: Integrated AWS Rekognition
To make managing your media content as seamless as possible, we've integrated AWS Rekognition into our platform. With this integration your workflows can become a lot more data driven and streamlined. It automatically adds detailed metadata to your media files, enabling smarter, faster search and organization. Whether it's recognizing faces in videos or identifying objects in images, this feature transforms how you interact with your media.
Feature 3: Select different archive options
Archiving is more flexible than ever with our new storage options. Choose your preferred storage type when archiving files and folders to optimize costs and access speed. Whether you’re looking for long-term storage or more frequent access, we've got you covered.
Feature 4: Import folder hierarchies
Replicating your existing folder structures into MediaLab is now just a drag-and-drop away. This feature supports the import of entire folder hierarchies, including empty folders, ensuring your organizational systems remain intact when you move into our platform.
Feature 5: Google Maps integration
We've implemented a new integration that allows you to view where your content was taken on an interactive map. It uses your content's GPS data to pinpoint the exact location and shows the locations of all the content in your folder in one clear view.
But that’s not all…
We’ve also made great quality of life adjustments to our desktop app MediaLab Connect! You’re now able to pause your downloads and overwrite your files with ease. Small changes, big differences! Give the new version of the app a go and let us know what you think!

- Additional archiving features: Building on our latest updates, we're planning to introduce even more flexible archiving options to help you manage your media more efficiently.
