Cloud connections

Cloud connections (previously remote destinations) are the building blocks that connect MediaLab directly to external servers or storage systems. They serve as the foundation for:

  • Pull profiles
  • Push destinations
  • Storage containers

Each new pull profile, push destination, or storage container must be linked to a cloud connection. A single cloud connection can be reused across multiple profiles or containers.

Supported Protocols

  • FTP/FTPS servers
  • SFTP servers
  • UDP servers
  • S3 storage
  • Azure Blob storage
  • SMB/Local storage (for on-premise or hybrid customers)

Creating a Cloud connection

  1. Go to Settings → Cloud Storage → Cloud Connections.
  2. Click Add and complete the form:
    • Protocol – choose the protocol (S3, Azure, FTP, etc). Note: cannot be changed later.
    • Name – enter a name for the destination.
    • Host/Domain – hostname or IP of the target server or storage account.
    • Container(Azure only) name of the storage container.
    • Account Name(Azure only) name of the storage account.
    • Bucket(S3 only) bucket name.
    • Account Key/Secret(S3 only) access credentials.
  3. Click Save. Additional fields may appear depending on the selected protocol.

Once created, this cloud connection can be used for pull uploads, push transfers, or cloud storage containers.

Note: Only administrators can create cloud connections. The applicable add-on must be enabled for your Lab. Contact support if you don’t see this feature.
