Branding Kits is the new version of MediaLab's branding editor. It works the same way as regular Branding, but instead of one set of branding for your whole organization, it lets you build several — so different teams, clients, or brands can each get their own look.

What's new

If the Branding Kits add-on is enabled for your organization, you can:

• Create multiple brand kits, instead of a single organization-wide brand.
• Preview a kit while you edit it, so you can see exactly how your changes will look before saving.
• Add custom light and dark logos and wallpapers per kit, so each brand looks right in both themes.
• Choose a default kit, which is used whenever no other kit is selected.

Choosing a kit for a share or upload invite

Branding kits exist to give you different options to choose from specifically when sharing or requesting uploads — they don't change what the platform itself looks like day to day. That's your default kit: it's what you see throughout MediaLab, and it's also what's used automatically if you don't have access to any other kit.

When you create a share invite or an upload invite, MediaLab shows you a kit picker if you have access to more than one brand kit. Whichever kit you pick, the recipient sees that kit's logo, wallpaper, and colors on the share or upload page.

If you don't have access to any of your organization's other kits, you won't see a kit picker at all — your share and upload invites will just use the default kit.

Permissions

Branding Kits has two separate permissions, depending on what you're trying to do.

Managing a kit — creating, editing, or deleting it — always requires Admin or higher.

Using a kit — picking it in a share or upload invite form — depends on how that specific kit is set up, using two settings found under that kit's own Permissions section:

• Level: sets a minimum rank. Everyone at or above that rank can use the kit. For example, setting the level to Manager means Managers, Admins, and Owners can all select it.
• Groups: gives a specific group access to the kit, regardless of rank, see the Groups article for how groups work.

If you set both a Level and a Group on the same kit, either one is enough to get access. If you only set a Group and leave Level empty, there's no rank requirement, only members of that group can use the kit and the default Admin and Owners

Admins and Owners can always see and use every brand kit, no matter how Level and Groups are configured on it.

These settings are configured per kit, under Settings → Branding → Permissions.
