Review & Approve

The Review & Approve feature allows you to review media files, leave feedback, and track approval status directly inside MediaLab. This keeps feedback centralized and ensures everyone knows the latest review status of a file.

Open a file for review

  1. Go to the folder containing the file.
  2. Click the media file you want to review.
  3. The preview player opens.
  4. Use the playback bar or timeline to navigate through the file.

Leave feedback on a file

  1. Open the file preview.
  2. Move the playhead to the frame you want to comment on.
  3. Click Write a comment.
  4. Type your feedback.
  5. Click Send.

Your comment is now attached to that exact timestamp or frame.

Reply to comments

  1. Open the file preview.
  2. Scroll to the comment thread.
  3. Click Reply under a comment.
  4. Type your response and send.

Replies stay grouped within the original comment for easy tracking.

Change approval status

  1. Open the file preview.
  2. Navigate to Details.
  3. Locate the Status section.
  4. Select the desired status:
  • Needs review
  • In review
  • Approved
  • Rejected

The status updates immediately and is visible to other users.

React to feedback

  1. Open a comment.
  2. Click the reaction icon.
  3. Select an emoji reaction.

This allows quick acknowledgment without adding extra comments.

Export comments for editing software If you need to implement feedback in editing software:

  1. Open the reviewed file.
  2. Go to the comments section.
  3. Select Export comments.
  4. Choose your format (for example, compatible with Premiere Pro or AVID).
  5. Download the file.

You can now import these comments directly into your editing timeline.

Invite reviewers

To request feedback from others:

  1. Share the file or folder with reviewers.
  2. Ensure they have permission to view and comment.
  3. Send them the link.

Reviewers can access the file in their browser and leave feedback without downloading it. Best practices for review workflows

To keep reviews organized:

  1. Assign one person to finalize approval status
  2. Use comments instead of email feedback
  3. Mark files Approved once final
  4. Delete comments after changes are implemented
