ML Connect integration issues

MediaLab Connect is designed to streamline uploads, downloads, and watch folder automation. If you encounter problems, they are often related to outdated versions, misconfigured workflows, or missing permissions.

App Not Updating

  • Check the release notes to see if a newer version is available.
  • Updates can be downloaded from the MediaLab Downloads page.
  • On Windows/macOS, ensure you have permission to install software (administrator rights may be required in some environments).

Push/Download Validation Errors

  • MediaLab Connect validates files during push and download.
  • If errors appear:
    • Retry the transfer — temporary network issues can cause integrity check failures.
    • Check available disk space in your destination folder.
    • Confirm you have sufficient permissions to write files locally.

Watch Folder Automation Not Triggering

  • Verify that the watch folder path exists and is accessible by Connect.
  • Make sure you have upload permissions in the target MediaLab folder.
  • Check whether folder structures are being supported in your version (added in Connect 1.1+).
  • Restart Connect after changing folder paths or automation settings.

Best Practices

  • Always run the latest version of MediaLab Connect for stability and new features.
  • Use stable local storage paths (avoid temporary network drives where permissions may change).
  • Regularly clear the upload/download history if you automate large volumes of transfers.
  • For persistent issues, export logs from Connect and share them with the MediaLab support team.
