RSS feed support

MediaLab supports RSS feeds across all subscription plans, following the Media RSS Specification. RSS feeds can be enabled for both personal and generic share links.

The feeds are compatible with major podcast platforms, including Google Podcasts and Apple Podcasts, allowing you to publish podcasts directly from MediaLab.

Static RSS Feeds

A static RSS feed can be created by generating a share link for a fileset or static playlist.

  • The feed remains accessible as long as the share link is valid.
  • Feed permissions follow the share link settings. For example, direct download links are only included if download permissions were enabled.

Dynamic RSS Feeds

Dynamic feeds can be created using Smart Collections:

  1. Create a search filter using metadata fields (e.g., tags, labels).
  2. Build a Smart Collection from the filter.
  3. Generate a share link for the collection.

You can also generate an RSS feed for an entire folder. The feed updates automatically to reflect the folder’s contents — ideal for publishing media assets or podcast episodes, where new items are added to a designated folder and picked up by podcast providers.
