Adobe Premiere Pro & AVID integration issues

MediaLab integrates with professional editing tools like Adobe Premiere Pro and AVID through FTP upload profiles. Most issues come from misconfigured FTP accounts or incorrect details in the editing software.

Verifying FTP Account Setup in MediaLab

  • Go to Settings → FTP Upload in your MediaLab environment.
  • Ensure the pull profile is active and assigned to the correct folder.
  • Save the generated FTP credentials (server, username, password) — they cannot be retrieved later.

Correctly Entering FTP Details in Premiere

  • In File → Export → FTP, confirm:
    • Server: ftp.medialab.app (default)
    • Port: 21 (default)
    • Username & Password: From your MediaLab FTP profile
    • Remote Path: Optional, usually not needed if folder is already set in MediaLab
  • Use the retry field in Premiere to allow multiple connection attempts if the server is busy.

Export Fails From Premiere or AVID

  • If export directly to FTP fails, use a fallback workflow:
    1. Export the file locally to your machine.
    2. Upload it via ML Connect or drag-and-drop in MediaLab’s browser uploader.
    3. Confirm upload in the Workflow Manager.

Best Practices

  • Always test your FTP connection in MediaLab before using it in Premiere/AVID.
  • Store FTP credentials securely — regenerate them if login fails.
  • For critical deliveries, export locally and upload with ML Connect for maximum reliability.
